It is widely known that Physical Education is a part of school’s curriculum and helps students to start to develop a healthy lifestyle in their early years. Being active does not only improve someone’s strength and endurance, it also improves mental and emotional development.

Physical education gives students different types of activities, playing sports, running and working on upper and lower body strength. If we are healthy, we can do any activity we want and not get tired that easily. Thus, exercising gives us stamina to enjoy activities more.

FHS students need to have 1.5 credits of P.E, which is equivalent to three semesters in the four-years in high school.

“Taking a P.E. class makes you build up endurance for extra uses in the future or the scenario you’re in,” Jefferson Choung, junior, said.

In addition, other students are motivated to be fit for showing other people how hard they worked. Students feel that they have achieved something when they exercise better than others.

“It is important to be fit . . . the stronger, the better, and because to have a maximum performance during physical activities,” Alexandrew Wong, junior, said.

However, some FHS students do not like their P. E. class due to some activities teachers give to the students.

“I don’t like P.E. class because I hate running a mile in the cold and rain. Also, it is too tiring, you can’t catch your breath and you’re sides hurt while running,” Tracy Doung, junior, said.

“I wouldn’t take PE class because there’s an option to take sports outside of school classes. Also, if I don’t take PE, I'd have space in my schedule to finish my other credits,” Rey Dona, junior, said.

This proves that it is not easy to be in fit, you need to be motivated mentally for you to exercise and be healthy. We may think that it is too tiring to exercise but, exercising on our early years will prevent back-pains and shoulder-pains when we grow older.  P.E. class gives us a lot of advantages in our health.
